extra-xdg-menus software package provides Extra menu categories for applications under GNOME and KDE, you can install in your Debian 7 (Wheezy) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install extra-xdg-menus
extra-xdg-menus is installed in your system.
Make ensure the extra-xdg-menus package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep extra-xdg-menus *
You will get with extra-xdg-menus package name, version, architecture and description in a table
